Chivas USA Scouting Report
Chivas USA (7-12-7, 28 pts.) enter Saturday’s game seventh in the Western Conference, nine points out of the MLS Cup Playoff race. The squad is winless in its last six games, having been outscored 20-7 during that time. Colombian Designated Player Juan Pablo Angel has scored more than any for Chivas USA, finding the net four times in 16 games this season. Meanwhile, Ryan Smith, Juan Agudelo and Miller Bolanos top the club’s assists list with three apiece. Leading the way defensively has been MLS All-Star goalkeeper Dan Kennedy with seven shutouts and 91 saves, second most in the league.

-If the Earthquakes score four-plus goals against Chivas USA on Saturday, they will become the 12th team in MLS history to score four or more goals in three consecutive games
-The San Jose Earthquakes are three wins away from tying the club’s all-time mark for wins in a season, set in 1999. Of the team’s 19 wins in 1999, 10 came via shootout with only nine in regulation. With 53 points and seven games remaining, San Jose is also closing in on the club record for points in a season, set in 2005. The team ended 2005 with 64 points and an 18-4-10 record.
