LA Galaxy Scouting Report


The LA Galaxy (16-12-6, 54 pts.) enter Sunday’s match after finishing fourth in the Western Conference. The LA Galaxy beat Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-1 at The Home Depot Center on Thursday, Nov. 1 in the knockout round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. The LA Galaxy finished the last five games of the regular season with a  2-1-2 record. The LA Galaxy are led offensively by forward Robbie Keane's 16 goals and midfielder Landon Donovan's 14 assists. The Earthquakes travel to Los Angeles after winning their second Supporters' Shield trophy. The Earthquakes are 2-0-3 in their final five games of the regular season. 


Of Note


-The Earthquakes have won their second Supporters' Shield trophy after a tight race against Sporting Kansas City. The Earthquakes recorded the best record in both the Western Conference and Major League Soccer with 66 points. The Earthquakes last won the Supporters' Shield in 2005. 


-Quakes all-star forward Chris Wondolowski won the Budweiser Golden Boot after scoring 27 goals in the regular season. Wondolowski converterd a penaly kick against the Portland Timbers in the last game of the regular season. The goal tied Roy Lassiter's 16 year record of goals scored in a season.


-Quakes all-star forward Chris Wondolowski was named September's Player of the Month for a fifth time and a league-record third time in one season. Wondolowski recorded four goals and two assists as the Earthquakes compiled a 3-0-2 record in the month of September. The MLS Player of the Month is selected by a panel of journalists from The North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).


-Quakes all-star defender Justin Morrow has signed a new contract with the Earthquakes. The 25-year-old defender has had his most productive year, starting in and playing the full 90 minutes in 34 games this season. Per MLS policy, terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
