San Jose won its first preseason game of the year 2-0 against the Houston Dynamo on Tuesday. Trialist Alexandre Gonzalez Emerson struck twice as goalkeepers Evan Newton and Jesus Guzman teamed up for the clean sheet.
The Earthquakes will train in San Jose next week until departing for Oxnard on Thursday, Feb. 7.
