Reserves Quakes vs RSL 3/4

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Real Salt Lake topped the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 in Reserve League play on Monday at the Earthquakes Training Facility in San Jose.


Real Salt Lake Reserves (1-0-0, 3 pts.) put the lone goal on the board in the 42nd minute as Joao Plata found Devon Sandoval with an open look at the net. Sandoval slotted the ball past Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham for the game winner.


San Jose (0-1-0) had a few chances in the second half including an opportunity in the 51st minute. Alexandre Gonzalez Emerson broke free down the sideline, beating his defender before firing a shot that sailed just wide.


The Earthquakes return to Reserve League play on Monday, April 15 against the Portland Timbers at JELD-WEN Field.
