Seattle Sounders FC Scouting Report

Seattle (7-6-3, 24 pts.) is seventh in the Western Conference, but with games in hand. The 2012 MLS Cup Playoff qualifiers are coming off a 2-0 loss against Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC, but they had won three of four before that match. Lamar Neagle, Obafemi Martins and Eddie Johnson are tied for the team lead in goals with four apiece while Neagle and Argentine Designated Player Mauro Rosales are atop the club’s assist list with three each.

A&W Root Beer Float Night

The Earthquakes will host their third annual A&W Root Beer Float Night on Saturday, July 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. PT in the Epicenter Fan Zone prior to the club’s clash with Western Conference foe Seattle Sounders FC. Local celebrities, including the club’s broadcast team of Dan Dibley, Kate Scott and Kelly Gray, have teamed up with the Earthquakes for the charity event to scoop, pour and serve root beer floats to fans with a recommended $3 donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Each fan that makes the recommended donation will also receive an A&W souvenir cup while supplies last. Last year, the Earthquakes raised $10,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as part of the second annual A&W Root Beer Float Night.


Wondo-WOW-ski Shines in Gold Cup Match

Chris Wondolowski continued his goal scoring form for the U.S. Men’s National team, recording a first-half hat trick in a 6-1 win over Belize in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup opener at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Ore. He made highlight reels for the goals as well as the misspelled name on his jersey: WONDOWLOWSKI.


Wondolowski Named to 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Fan XI

Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski was among the 10 names announced by Major League Soccer for the 2013 MLS All-Star Game’s Fan XI on Sunday. The selection is Wondolowski’s third in as many years and the third of his career. Wondolowski, 30, leads the Earthquakes with five goals and is second on the club with three assists. Three of his goals were game winners. He is currently in camp with the U.S. Men’s National Team for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The AT&T MLS All-Star Game is slated for Wednesday, July 31 at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas. The MLS All-Stars wlll face Italian giants AS Roma at 6 p.m. PT on ESPN2 and UniMas.


Earthquakes to Host You Can Play Fundraiser Game at Kezar Stadium

The Earthquakes will face Antigua Barracuda FC in a Reserve League match as part of the USL-MLS partnership on Monday, July 15 at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. PT. As part of Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Week, all season ticket holders will receive free admission to the match at Kezar Stadium. All season ticket holders must RSVP with their Earthquakes account representative to receive a voucher for the game. The price for non-season ticket holders will be $10 with all proceeds benefiting the You Can Play Project. Tickets will be available at the Earthquakes Front Office prior to game day or at the box office at Kezar Stadium on game day.
