After scoring a brace in Saturday's match vs. Chivas USA, Quakes' leading goal-scorer, Chris Wondolowski, stole the top spot on the weekly Castrol Index.
Wondolowski returned to the Quakes on Saturday from a very successful July, including six goals and a Gold Cup title with the USMNT. Even though he was away from MLS for a month, Wondo managed to score his first goals in league play since May 8. With his brace, he earned a nomination for MLS AT&T Goal of the Week and amongst the League's Top 3 Performers of the Week.
Quakes begin their Canadian road trip this week, starting their CCL stint at Montreal on Wedneday (on Fox Soccer Plus, 5 p.m. PT kickoff) and resuming MLS play on Saturday at Vancouver (on CSN California, 4:30 p.m. PT kickoff).
