USAvMEX: Goodson, USMNT to battle for World Cup spot

Just a few days ago, Clarence Goodson was called in by USMNT head man Jurgen Klinsmann to join the squad ahead of tonight's crucial World Cup Qualifier against Mexico.

Goodson, who most recently featured for the Red, White and Blue during the CONCACAF Gold Cup, is a veteran to USMNT World Cup squad. Having been on the 2010 World Cup roster, Goodson is no stranger to playing a key role for the USMNT's backline. He has earned 42 caps and three goals for the national team.

Tonight, the USMNT could clinch a spot to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. A victory against Mexico, and a Honduras tie or win against Panama, and the USMNT will be on their way to their seventh straight World Cup.
