Earthquakes Unveil New Logo, Jerseys
The Earthquakes unveiled the club’s new logo during a public event attended by over 4,000 fans last week at San Pedro Square Market in Downtown San Jose. Earthquakes Acquire Allocation Money from Vancouver for Beitashour
The Earthquakes acquired allocation money from Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for defender Steven Beitashour last week. Beitashour, 26, had two goals and 16 assists in 87 appearances during his four years with the Earthquakes. The San Jose native joined the club as a second round (30th overall) selection in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft following a standout career with San Diego State. After playing in just eight games during his rookie season, Beitashour broke out with a team-high seven assists in 2011. He followed that effort with six assists in 33 games in 2012, earning a starting spot in the AT&T MLS All-Star Game against Chelsea FC in the process. After missing San Jose’s first six games of 2013 while recovering from surgery to repair a sports hernia, Beitashour closed the year with one goal and three assists in 27 games. He also earned his first international cap as a second-half substitute for Iran in a 2015 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Thailand on Oct. 15, 2013.
