SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes and Comcast SportsNet announced their local broadcast schedule for the upcoming season, a slate that includes 27 games in High Definition.

Combined with San Jose’s seven English-language nationally televised matches, the club will televise each of their 34 regular season games for a third straight year. Additionally, the Earthquakes will broadcast all of their regular season games on English and Spanish radio stations, 1590 KLIV and 1370 KZSF.

“We are excited to continue our great partnership with Comcast SportsNet,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. “One of the key goals when I joined the club was to make sure each of our regular season games was broadcast live for our fans and to be able to give them that opportunity three years in a row is fantastic. CSN has been a great partner over the years and we’re looking forward to another great season.”

Comcast SportsNet will have a new team in the booth this year. Anthony Passarelli and Chris Dangerfield move to the television side after broadcasting the last two seasons on radio. Meanwhile, KNBR morning show co-host, Kate Scott, will return for her second season as the sideline reporter.

Passarelli, a four-time NorCal AFTRA award-winning sports anchor and reporter began his broadcasting career as a news/sports reporter at KPAY in Chico, Calif. He was the radio play-by-play announcer for the independent Western Baseball League’s Salinas Peppers, and then the sports director for KFBK radio in Sacramento. In 1998, Passarelli joined KCBS radio in San Francisco. He has also provided color commentary and radio play-by-play for San Jose State men’s basketball and Santa Clara University men’s soccer, and is the play-by-play voice of Santa Clara men’s basketball. Passarelli is a Bay Area native, having grown up in San Jose and attended Bellarmine College Prep. He resides in San Jose with his family.

Dangerfield was the color analyst on television for San Jose from 1996-99. The native of England enjoyed a great career for the Earthquakes in both the North American Soccer League and Western Soccer Alliance. In the NASL, he was a key midfielder from 1982-84, scoring 14 goals and notching 14 assists for the Quakes in that span. He helped the 1983 Quakes to an undefeated season at home and a semifinal finish in the playoffs. He also played for the Portland Timbers, Los Angeles Aztecs and Team Hawaii, among others.

Scott will be back on the sidelines as part of the Comcast SportsNet broadcast team for the second straight year. In addition to her work for the Quakes, Scott also covers the San Jose Giants for Comcast Hometown and high school and college sports for Comcast SportsNet. She is the morning sports anchor for KNBR 680 AM in San Francisco. Scott previously worked for the San Francisco Giants, Cal Bears, FC Gold Pride and CSTV. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2005 and was a member of the Spartan Stadium "Blue Crew " during the Quakes run to the 2003 MLS Cup.

The Quakes’ telecast schedule begins on Comcast SportsNet California with their home opener against Real Salt Lake on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. PT. Among the other marquee matchups are a pair of road games against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m. PT and Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. PT as well as the final leg of the California Clasico, a home date with the LA Galaxy on Saturday, June 28 at Buck Shaw Stadium at 12 p.m. PT.

The team has five national television games in Spanish, three on UniMas and two on Univision Deportes Network.

David Koppett, Senior Executvie Producer of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and Comcast SportsNet California, added: "Chris Dangerfield has long been a favorite of Earthquakes fans, first as a player and then as an analyst, and Anthony Passarelli is a familiar voice from his excellent play-by-play work on the radio.  We're excited to add their talents and insight to our Comcast SportsNet telecasts this season. ”

The partnership will also include appearances by Earthquakes players and coaches on Yahoo SportsTalk Live and coverage on both SportsNet Central and SportsNet Reports.

The Quakes are back on KLIV for the fourth straight year. KLIV is a locally-owned station that serves the community and focuses on the news, events and people of Silicon Valley. An affiliate of CNN Radio, KLIV is Silicon Valley’s only all-news radio station. Besides local news coverage, 1590 KLIV is known for its frequent traffic reports covering Silicon Valley roads and freeways.

The Earthquakes return to KZSF for the fifth straight season and will air all games on the station for the fourth consecutive year. The Quakes aired home games only in Spanish on “La Kaliente” during the 2004, 2005 and 2010 seasons. KZSF is a locally owned Spanish language station that hosts daily sports talk shows and also plays a wide variety of popular music.

Carlos Cesar Rivera returns for his eighth consecutive season as the Spanish-language voice of the Quakes and his 11th overall. A native of El Salvador, Rivera hosts a popular sports talk show from 5–7 p.m. PT Monday through Friday on La Kaliente that covers MLS, Mexican League soccer, as well as many other sports.  Rivera, who has worked in radio in the Bay Area for over 30 years, has also called games for the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks in his career.
