Late goals from Chris Wondolowski and rookie Adam Jahn rallied the Earthquakes to a 2-1 win at Buck Shaw Stadium in front of a sold out crowd. Jahn opened his professional scoring account in the 83rd minute and won a penalty in stoppage time to key the comeback. While San Jose put pressure on New York early, it was the Red Bulls who found the first goal. Thierry Henry floated a cross into the mix that glanced off of Earthquakes defender Jason Hernandez’s head to the feet of Red Bulls midfielder Eric Alexander. Alexander finished on the doorstep for his first goal of the season. The Quakes struck back as Sam Cronin lofted an inch-perfect cross to the back post where Jahn slid and volleyed home his first professional goal. Jahn was again the center of attention as the game entered stoppage time. The rookie rose and headed a ball toward goal that caught Red Bulls defender Roy Miller on the arm, earning the Earthquakes a penalty. Wondolowski had his first attempt blocked, but a New York player entered the box early, allowing a retake. Wondolowski tucked his next attempt away low and to the right, sealing the game for San Jose.

The New York Red Bulls currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a 5-5-8 record and 23 points. They are coming off a 4-1 win against Columbus Crew over the weekend after a goal and three assists from Thierry Henry. Bradley Wright-Phillips leads the way for the Red Bulls with 15 goals after scoring against the Crew, while Henry leads New York with nine assists. Wright-Phillips currently sits atop of the 2014 MLS Golden Boot race and starting goalkeeper Luis Robles leads MLS with 63 saves this season.
