Avaya Stadium to Host Naturalization Ceremony Prior to Earthquakes Match on September 12

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes will participate in National Welcoming Week by hosting a naturalization ceremony at Avaya Stadium prior to the club’s match with Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, September 12. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., two hours prior to kickoff, and the ceremony will commence at 6:15 p.m.


Ten soon-to-be citizens will participate in the ceremony, including two married couples from India, a family of four from the Philippines and two individuals from Mexico. Friends and family members of the participants will be in attendance to help them celebrate and the new citizens will be recognized on-field at halftime.


Among the speakers who will participate in the ceremony are Earthquakes President Dave Kaval, City of San José Councilmember Manh Nguyen, and John Kramar, District Director, U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services.
