Man Down
The Earthquakes will be down a man after defender Andres Imperiale was suspended one game following Sunday’s match against Sporting KC. His absence opens the door for newcomer Kofi Sarkodie to make his second start for the Quakes.
Wondolowski Hits Career Milestone, Nears Another
With a nod in the starting XI, forward Chris Wondolowski will start in his 200th career match in Major League Soccer on Saturday. The Earthquakes captain also needs four more goals to tie Landon Donovan for the most road goals in MLS history.
Evenly Matched
Saturday’s match marks only the ninth time the Union and Earthquakes have met in the regular season. The Earthquakes hold a narrow advantage over the Union in their previous match-ups, recording a 4-3-1 record all-time. San Jose is looking for their first road win of the season and have had success in Chester in the past, boasting a 2-2-0 record on their turf.
