On Sunday, July 10 the Quakes’ PDL affiliate Burlingame Dragons FC found themselves with their backs up against the wall and in need of a win to secure a spot in the 2016 PDL Playoffs. The Dragons proved worthy of a playoff spot with a 4-0 domination of the Las Vegas Mobsters, putting on a show with four different players finding the back of the net.
Burlingame are 7-4-2 on the season with one game remaining at San Francisco City Football Club at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15. After a subpar first half of the season in which they went 2-3-1, the club fought back strong posting a 5-1-1 record getting hot at the right time.
In their brief two-year history, the Dragons have been to the playoffs twice creating what looks to be the start of a PDL dynasty. Last year, the club suffered a heartbreaking loss in the conference semifinals to Sounders U-23. With some playoff experience under their belts, the Dragons look to make some noise this post season.
