Earthquakes President Dave Kaval to Assume Role as President of Oakland Athletics
Earthquakes President Dave Kaval has expanded his role and will also take over as President of the Oakland Athletics. He will continue to serve as President of the Earthquakes and spearhead the team’s general manager search. Additionally, the Quakes announced that Jared Shawlee has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer to oversee the day-to-day business operations.
Earthquakes Partner with Cityteam Ministries to Provide Thanksgiving Meals for Families in Need
The San Jose Earthquakes are partnering with Cityteam Ministries to provide and distribute food at Avaya Stadium for 5,000 families from the City of San Jose and Santa Clara County, presented by 7UP, tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. PT. With growing support, the second-annual Thanksgiving event will see meals distributed to 5,000 families, surpassing the last year’s number by 2,000.
Snow to Fall in San Jose on Dec. 10 at Avaya Stadium
The holidays will hit San Jose in full force on Saturday, Dec.10 as the San Jose Earthquakes will host the first-ever Winterfest at Avaya Stadium. The holiday-themed festival will run from noon through 5 p.m. and will feature more than 10 tons of snow and holiday-related activities ahead of a viewing party for MLS Cup 2016. General admission to Winterfest is free, although new and gently used toys or canned goods are a suggested donation upon entry as the Quakes are hosting a toy drive ahead of and during Winterfest.

Nov. 23, 2003 – Second MLS Cup
The Earthquakes won their second MLS Cup Championship defeating the Chicago Fire 4-2. Landon Donovan notched two goals in the final, while Ronnie Ekelund and Richard Mulrooney also contributed with a goal apiece.

ACADEMY UPDATE


The Earthquakes U-14, U-13 and U-12 teams faced Marin FC Alliance on Saturday, Nov. 19. The U-14 and U-13 teams each earned 4-0 victories, while one U-12 side won 5-1 and the other U-12 side fell 3-2 to conclude play for 2016. Both U-12 sides and the U-14 team will next compete on Feb. 4, 2017 when they face the De Anza Force Soccer Club.
The U-18s and U-16s will return to action the week of Dec. 1-5 at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. for U.S. Soccer’s Development Academy Winter Showcase.
