NEWS: Earthquakes Loan Defender Kip Colvey to Reno 1868 FC for Two Preseason Matches

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes have loaned defender Kip Colvey to the club’s USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC for a pair of upcoming preseason matches. Colvey’s loan is the first player transaction between the two teams since the affiliate partnership was announced last June.


Colvey will play for Reno in today’s match against the East Bay Stompers at Golden Eagle Sports Complex in Sparks, Nev., scheduled for 2 p.m. He will remain with the team and also play against the Fresno Fuego at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 at Chukchansi Park in Fresno. He will then return to San Jose following the match.


Colvey, 22, appeared in four matches (three starts) last season after being selected in the third round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.
