Earthquakes Trade Goalkeeper David Bingham to LA Galaxy
The San Jose Earthquakes announced that the club has traded goalkeeper David Bingham to the LA Galaxy in exchange for as much as $250,000 in Allocation Money. The Quakes will receive $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) and $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) in 2018. San Jose can also receive an additional $50,000 in GAM in 2019 based on his performance next season. Read the full story here.



Earthquakes Sign 15-Year-Old Defender Jacob Akanyirige to Homegrown Player Contract
The San Jose Earthquakes have signed 15-year-old defender Jacob Akanyirige to a Homegrown Player contract. He becomes the youngest-ever signing by the Earthquakes, the third-youngest player currently in MLS (Gianluca Busio - SKC, George Bello - ATL) and the eighth-youngest to ever sign a pro contract in league history. Akanyirige, 15, joined the Quakes' U-15 squad ahead of the 2016-17 academy season from Ballistic United SC. He has been competing for the U-19s in 2017-18, despite being age-eligible for the U-17s. The Pleasanton native becomes the fourth Homegrown Player signing in San Jose's history, and first directly from the team's academy, after midfielder Tommy Thompson ahead of the 2014 season, defender Nick Lima ahead of the 2017 season and goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski earlier this month. Quakes Sign Three Players from Reno 1868 FC
The San Jose Earthquakes have signed three players from the club's USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC: defender Jimmy Ockford and midfielders Luis Felipe and Chris Wehan. The trio helped Reno tally a 17-7-8 record, reach the USL playoffs in their inaugural season, finish atop the league in goal differential (+36) and set the USL single-season goals record (75).
