Jan. 10, 2008 – Acquired Goalkeeper Joe Cannon

The Earthquakes acquired goalkeeper Joe Cannon from the LA Galaxy in exchange for allocation money on Jan. 10, 2008. During his career, Cannon spent seven seasons with the Quakes and still leads the club’s goalkeeping records in games started (171), minutes played (15,561), wins (66) and saves (693). Cannon was inducted into the San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame in 2017 and currently serves as an analyst for Earthquakes radio broadcasts.


Jan. 14, 2016 – Selected goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft

The Earthquakes selected goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell with the No. 8 pick in the first round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 14, 2016. Tarbell had a breakout season in 2017, making 11 starts and recording 41 saves. He earned MLS Save of the Week honors during Weeks 23 and 27.


Jan. 13, 2017 – Selected Jackson Yueill in the First Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft

The Earthquakes selected midfielder Jackson Yueill with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 13, 2017. Yueill made an impact in 2017, making 13 total appearances and 10 starts.
