The Quakes Foundation is in the midst of the second annual MOVEment Week featuring a variety of community service events. Benefiting the local San Jose community and neighborhoods close to the Quakes organization, the MOVEment Week aims to inspire people to be more active and join the movement to help those in need. Monday, April 30
Surprise Equipment Donation
East San Jose Neighborhood


The Quakes Foundation, with the support of Honda, will make a surprise donation of sports equipment to a deserving beneficiary in an East San Jose neighborhood as part of the Neighborhood Night Series, presented by Wells Fargo.


Tuesday, May 1
Get Q Fit
Greater San Jose Area


Quakes mascot ‘Q’ is going around San Jose to reward people that are exercising with Quakes prizes, including ticket vouchers and swag. He will be making stops in local gyms and running spots.


Wednesday, May 2
Pitch Please!?
Avaya Stadium
7 – 9 p.m.


Calling all aspiring community leaders and philanthropists! Have an idea for a project that will solve a challenge in the San Jose community? Present it to a panel consisting of local judges, including Quakes Foundation board member, Laurie Greer, to win funding in this Shark Tank style event. The panel is looking for projects that pertain to arts, community engagement, health and wellness, culture, etc. To register, click here.


Thursday, May 3
Earthquakes Preparedness Kit Build
Ace Charter Middle School, San Jose


The Quakes are teaming up with PG&E and the San Jose Fire Department as part of the Kicks for Kids program to educate students at Ace Charter Middle School in San Jose on preparing for Earthquakes. The group will lead 50 volunteers comprised of Quakes and PG&E employees in an Earthquakes Preparedness Kit Build, followed by a youth safety activity. Bring Soccer to Work Day
Social Media


Fans are encouraged to post photos of themselves juggling a soccer ball or exercising at work with the hashtag #Quakes74 for a chance to win an invitation to a Quakes training session to juggle with some of the players.


Saturday, May 5
Beneficiary for Chris Dangerfield
Avaya Stadium
7:15 p.m.


The San Jose Earthquakes will host the Portland Timbers on Saturday, May 5 at 7:15 p.m. and will induct Quakes legend Chris Dangerfield into the Earthquakes Hall of Fame at halftime. He has selected the Silicon Valley Children’s Fund as the beneficiary from the 50/50 raffle during the match. Silicon Valley Children’s Fund and TeenForce are committed to improving educational career and life outcomes for foster youth by providing education coaching, tutoring, enrichment learning, work experience and scholarships for high school and college age foster youth.

E-Soccer Festival

12 – 5 p.m.


The Quakes Academy teams will lead a youth soccer clinic for E-Soccer, a volunteer-run, free soccer program for children both with and without intellectual disabilities. The athletes participate alongside each other in an inclusive environment.
