NEWS: 1980s to Come Alive at Avaya Stadium this Saturday

Krazy george - Retro Night

The 1980s will come alive at the Quakes game this Saturday, May 19 as San Jose takes on D.C. United at 7:15 p.m. at Avaya Stadium, presented by Gyft. As part of Retro Night, the Quakes will offer fans many activities from the 80s, starting at pregame and extending to the post match festivities.

The first 5,000 fans that arrive on Saturday will receive an Anibal Godoy sweatband, an accessory that was a vital part of any workout routine circa 30 years ago. Once fans are in the stadium, the 7UP Epicenter will be home to some of the most iconic throwbacks from the decade.

Straight from Back to the Future, fans can take photos with a DeLorean. They can also play the 80s classic videogame Atari, and Quakes memorabilia from the 80s will be on display with longtime member of the Earthquakes Brian Holmes explaining their significance.

Fast Times, an 80s cover-band, will perform classic hits both before and after the game, and throughout the night only songs from the 80s will be played, including goal celebrations.

Retro Night Gear Available

The team will warm-up in throwback jerseys, and Quakes alumnus from the 1980s and Devotion Scarf recipient Easy Perez will take the honorary first kick to start the match.

Fans are encouraged to attend the game dressed in their favorite 80s gear, and can purchase throwback swag at the Quakes Team Store, powered by Gyft. Each fan that purchases $74 worth or more of Quakes gear will receive a trucker hat with the retro Quakes logo.
