Viewing Parties, Brew Bike Tours and More Come to San Jose For 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

The San Jose have fan activities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia to accompany the viewing parties at Avaya Stadium, including Brew Bike tours, outfit competitions and a passport program. As announced in May, the Quakes will show every single World Cup match on the video board at Avaya Stadium with free admission and parking, and now have more activities for fans to celebrate the largest sporting event in the world. Earthquakes Acquire SuperDraft Selection Kevin Partida on Loan

The San Jose Earthquakes announced that the club has acquired Kevin Partida on a season-long loan from the club’s USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC. “The fact that Kevin Partida joins us is a result of his hard work in Reno and the trust he gained with his head coach Ian Russell, to which we want to extend a big thank you for identifying him ahead of the draft,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “Despite his young age, Kevin shows a level of reliability, maturity and commitment to his team and teammates that gives us the confidence he will easily integrate into the First Team.” Read the full story here.


Quakes Academy's Sophie Jones, U.S. U-17 WNT Qualify for 2018 FIFA U-17 World Cup

Sophie Jones and the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team qualified for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay with a 3-2 win against Haiti in the 2018 Concacaf Women's U-17 Championship semifinal thanks to a pair of goals scored in under a minute at the beginning of the second half, by midfielder Mia Fishel and forward Sunshine Fontes. Earthquakes Add CLEAR to Expedite Security Lines at Avaya Stadium

The San Jose Earthquakes announced that CLEAR has been added at Avaya Stadium to expedite the security procedure for all matches at the home of the Quakes. The dedicated VIP security lines will help fans gain access to the stadium faster than ever. More commonly known for its presence in airports to help travelers bypass the often lengthy TSA lines, CLEAR is expanding to sporting venues nationwide. The process to sign up is completely free and takes no more than five minutes. Fans can sign up for the program on any game day at Avaya Stadium and only need to be in possession of a U.S. driver’s license or passport. Read the full story here.


San Jose Earthquakes & Fanatics Sign Long-Term Multichannel Retail Partnership

The San Jose Earthquakes and Fanatics, the global leader for licensed sports merchandise, announced a new, long-term multichannel retail partnership in which Fanatics will take over in-venue retail operations for the club throughout Avaya Stadium. The deal builds on Fanatics’ existing e-commerce partnership with the team through its operation of MLS Shop, and will create a seamless, onminchannel platform for fans whether shopping for merchandise and apparel on their computers, on their phones or at the Quakes Team Store at Avaya Stadium. Avaya Stadium to Host U.S. WNT Friendly Against Chile Sept. 4

The San Jose Earthquakes and U.S. Soccer announced that Avaya Stadium will host the U.S. Women’s National Team for a friendly against Chile on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. PT. The match will be televised on ESPN2 and Univision Deportes. “We are excited to host one of the most respected and competitive national teams in the world again,” said Earthquakes President Tom Fox. “The athletes on U.S. Women’s National Team are excellent role models for the thousands of young soccer players in the Bay Area, and we are looking forward to welcoming them back to San Jose.” Read the full story here.
