The San Jose Earthquakes suffered a 2-1 loss to the Portland Timbers this past Saturday at Providence Park. Midfielder Florian Jungwirth scored the Quakes’ lone goal in the 87th minute, his third of the season.\

Anibal Godoy scored in the 17th minute with a chip goal to secure the victory. Five players made their MLS debut for the Earthquakes during the victory: Danny Hoesen, Jahmir Hyka, Florian Jungwirth, Nick Lima and Marco Ureña.
