FEATURE: 2018 QUAKES CORORATE CUP

The 7th annual tournament, Earthquakes Corporate Cup, hosted at Santa Clara University on Saturday, July 21, brought together groups from across San Jose competing across two divisions.

8 men’s teams - Avaya, Kelly Moore, GoPro, Zanker Recycling, LinkedIn, Infineon Technologies, PayPal, and Fox Racing and 8 co-ed teams: PG&E, Amazon, People’s Associates, LinkedIn, Pear VC, GitHub, and BD Biosciences – battled for the coveted corporate cup trophy.

The co-ed division saw Moses Isang of Amazon claim the Golden Boot with 6 goals over 4 games, while GitHub best BD Biosciences to raise the trophy in the final.

GitHub – "We had an amazing time. We came into the tournament with low expectations, we were even planning a pool party for 1pm! After our first game, we felt unstoppable despite the fierce competition, we played great together as a team and everyone genuinely had a super fun time!  Thanks for organizing, we can’t wait to come back next year to defend our title!"

GoPro finished the day off on top of the men’s division, with team member Kris Clark taking home the Golden Boot (12 goals over 5 games).

“From the players to the referees to the tournament staff, everyone combined to make for a friendly but competitive tournament with a really high level of play.  Some amazing goals were scored and we look forward to hosting everyone again for future tournaments.” – Jeff Sinclair, Director of Ticket Sales
