QUAKES NOTES: Quakes return to Levi's Stadium to play Man United

International Success

The San Jose Earthquakes have a winning record in international friendlies, going 11-10-8 dating back to 1996. They have an 8-2-4 record in the past 14 friendly matches.


Shaking up the Premier League

In international friendlies between the Earthquakes and English Premier League teams, the Earthquakes are undefeated with a 2-0-3 record.


A First at Levi’s

This Sunday’s match will be the first international friendly that the Quakes will play at Levi’s Stadium. The Quakes have previously faced Orlando City SC and Seattle Sounders FC at Levi’s Stadium in MLS regular season matchups.


Tough Competition

The last time the Earthquakes took on Manchester United, the Quakes fell 3-1 in the International Champions Cup on July 21, 2015. The United side featured Juan Mata, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Wayne Rooney.


Our Captain

Chris Wondolowski is currently the Quakes’ leading goal scorer in international friendlies with four goals, finding the back of the net against San Luis FC (1), Real Sociedad (2) and Eintracht Frankfurt (1).


Friends Overseas

Sunday’s match will be the Earthquakes’ first international friendly against an English Premier League team since July 20, 2013, when they earned a 1-0 victory against Norwich City FC at Buck Shaw Stadium.
