Godoy and Cummings Called to Panama National Team

San Jose Earthquakes defender Harold Cummings and midfielder Anibal Godoy have been called up to the Panama National Team by interim head coach Gary Stempel for international friendlies against Japan and South Korea. On Oct. 12, Panama will take on Japan at Denka Big Swan Stadium in Niigata City, Japan, and four days later on Oct. 16 will face South Korea at Cheonan Stadium in Cheonan, South Korea. Panama most recently faced Venezuela in an international friendly on Sept. 11, where they fell 2-0. Read the full story here.

 

Gilbert Fuentes, Cade Cowell Called to U-17 Men’s National Team

San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Gilbert Fuentes and academy forward Cade Cowell have been called up to the United States U-17 Men’s National Team by head coach Shaun Tsakiris to compete in the Four Nations Tournament in Mexico City. The USA will face Argentina on Oct. 4, Mexico the following day and conclude the competition against Chile on Oct. 7. The trip to Mexico marks the seventh camp of the cycle. The squad has also traveled to Spain and Costa Rica, where the team’s international competition included games against India (1-0, 1-0), Norway (2-0, 1-0), Costa Rica (2-2, 2-1) and Mexico (1-0, 1-2). Quakes to Host Oktoberfest on October 6 with All-You-Can-Eat Bratwurst Buffet

The San Jose Earthquakes will host Oktoberfest, presented by TCL, at Avaya Stadium on Oct. 6 as part of the game day activities for the match against the New York Red Bulls. Oktoberfest will feature an all-you-can-eat bratwurst buffet, Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest and Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc draft beers, giveaways and music. Oktoberfest will start at 5:30 p.m. at a beer garden located in the 7UP Epicenter and will last until kickoff. The Quakes will take on the Red Bulls at 7:15 p.m. PT, broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF. The first 7,500 fans that enter the stadium for the match will receive Quakes steins, courtesy of TCL.
