Erin Ridley has been hired to serve as head coach of the Girls’ Development Academy U-19s. Ridley has an impressive background as both a player and coach and should make an immediate impact with our girls’ program. She played for the University of Virginia, where she led the Cavaliers to an ACC championship in 2004 as a co-captain, and also competed for various semi-pro teams. During her coaching career, she has worked primarily at the Division I college level but has also spent time with club, high school, US ODP and US Youth National Team teams serving as an assistant/goalkeeper coach for the U.S. U-17 WNT earlier this year. She most recently served as the head coach of the semi-pro WPSL Chattanooga FC Women, winning the Southeastern Conference title in 2018 and taking conference Coach of the Year honors. As a college coach, Ridley worked as an assistant coach for Stephen F. Austin State University, Davidson College, Virginia Tech, and George Washington University between 2006-17, helping her teams attain three conference championships, making a run to the College Cup final four in 2013, and overseeing the development of numerous professional and international level players.
She possesses a USSF National ‘B’ License, a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.
