The Quakes return to action this Saturday, June 24 to face off against Western Conference foe Real Salt Lake on Health and Wellness Night presented by Sutter Health! Leading up to the match, the club will be hosting “Yoga on the Pitch” on Friday, June 23 before hosting a halftime zumba performance on game day. As we look ahead to Saturday, we caught up with the players to talk about their favorite pregame meal that helps them performance at the highest level.

“For pregame, it’s always pasta and chicken.”






Marc Pelosi


“Before the games I definitely like to eat some pasta. I then like to keep it lean and light with chicken and some sort of vegetable. Asparagus is my favorite.”


Tommy Thompson


“I keep it really simple with chicken and pasta. I always throw some red pepper flakes on there as well.”

“For me it’s always chicken and vegetables.”

“Pregame - about four hours before every game - I like to eat a small dish of pasta with some chicken and lots of vegetables. On top of that, I had some bread just to carb-up a little bit.”

“I always eat three hours before the game. I eat mostly potatoes, asparagus, broccoli, chicken or fish.”
