SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has acquired $75,000 of 2020 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell. The Quakes will also receive additional allocation money should Tarbell reach certain performance-based metrics.

“I would like to thank Columbus, Andrew and his agents involved for working diligently to find the most mutually-beneficial outcome,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “We are grateful for Andrew’s service for the Earthquakes over the past four seasons.  He stood out as one of the most respected players in our club and I am glad that this trade gives him a great opportunity to pursue new personal and professional goals.”

Tarbell, 26, joined San Jose as the eighth-overall selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He made 41 appearances for the club from 2016-19.
