NEWS: JT Marcinkowski called to U-23 U.S. Men's National Team

2019 - jt - u23 call up - August

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski has been called to a United States U-23 National Team training camp at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. from Sept. 1-10. The U.S. U-23s will face the Japan U-23s in a friendly on Sept. 9.

The match vs. Japan represents another step in the U-23’s journey to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as the USA aims to qualify for its first Men’s Olympic Tournament since 2008. Concacaf recently announced that the 2020 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship will be held March 20-April 1 in Guadalajara, Mexico. That tournament will send two teams from the North America, Central American and the Caribbean to Tokyo.

Marcinkowski, 22, is in his second season as a professional after signing a Homegrown Player contract with the Quakes in 2018 following three years at Georgetown University. He has made 12 appearances on loan with the club’s USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC this year, making 43 saves and keeping three shutouts.

Marcinkowski is the only player called to all four U.S. U-23 camps this year.
