NEWS: Three Quakes Players Called to United States U17 National Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes homegrown players Cruz Medina, Edwyn Mendoza, and Oscar Verhoeven have been called to the United States U17 National Team ahead of the Václav Ježek Cup from Sept. 1-11 in the Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. San Jose is the most represented club on the roster.

The U.S. kicks off the competition against Ukraine on Wednesday, Sept. 6, takes on Switzerland on Friday, Sept. 8, and closes against hosts Czech Republic on Saturday, Sept. 10. All three of the USA’s group stage matches are set for 8 a.m. PT.

The USA is continuing preparations for the upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup, set for Nov. 10 – Dec. 2 in Indonesia. All three Earthquakes players helped the US qualify for the U17 World Cup after finishing runner-up at the Concacaf U17 Championships. They also participated in the 2022 edition of the Václav Ježek Cup last year.
