2014: Finished his first MLS season with eight starts in 13 appearances … Became the second-youngest player to start a game in Earthquakes history when he took the field against Seattle on Aug. 20 at CenturyLink Field at 19 years, 5 days … Open Cup: Did not play against Sacramento Republic FC at Kezar Stadium on June 11 … Sacramento Republic FC (Loan): Finished with four starts in seven appearances for Sacramento … Made his debut for the club as a starter and played 75 minutes  against Arizona United SC on June 26.

Prep: Attended Granite Bay High School in the Sacramento area where he helped turn the Grizzlies into one of the top prep teams in the nation ... Scored 29 goals and had 12 assists while helping Granite Bay to a 26-0-1 record as a freshman ... Followed that campaign with 23 goals and nine assists before missing his junior season due to injury ... Graduated after his junior year with a 4.1 grade-point average to continue his career at Indiana along with his brother, Tanner.

Personal: His dad, Gregg Thompson, was an All-American at Indiana and represented the United States at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. In addition to his prep work, Thompson was a standout for Cal Blues, one of the premier club teams in the Sacramento area.
