Chris Wondolowski scored a pair of goals to lead the San Jose Earthquakes to a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. With the two goals, Wondolowski moved into a tie for the league lead in goals with two games remaining. The Quakes broke on top in the eighth minute as goalkeeper David Bingham, making his MLS debut, drove a long ball 70 yards downfield to Wondolowski. Wondolowski took one touch before beating Revs goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth to the far post for a 1-0 Quakes advantage. Benny Feilhaber tied the score for New England in the 55th minute after a scramble in front of the goal. However, the Quakes fought back and found the winner in the 82nd minute. Simon Dawkins found Sam Cronin out wide and he picked out Wondolowski with a cross to the back post. Wondolowski finished with a header and the Quakes picked up three points.

The San Jose Earthquakes erased a pair of one-goal deficits to earn a 2-2 draw against visiting Seattle Sounders FC at Buck Shaw Stadium. Khari Stephenson provided the game’s most exciting goal in the 52nd minute. Stephenson teed up a shot from 35 yards that he scorched to the upper corner at the far post to knot things up at 2-2. San Jose initially trailed 1-0 after Brad Evans finished a close-range shot in the 17th minute. That set the stage for Simon Dawkins to score his first career MLS goal in the 32nd minute. Dawkins received a through ball from Ryan Johnson, turned and fired a left-footed shot that beat Sounders FC goalkeeper Kasey Keller to the far post. Sounders FC regained the lead in the 42nd minute when O’Brian White polished off a cross from just in front of the goal, but the lead wouldn’t stand as Stephenson came off the bench to level the match in the second half.
