Earthquakes Induct Dayak to Club’s Hall of Fame During Halftime of FC Dallas Game 
The Earthquakes inducted star defender and member of the 2001 and 2003 MLS Cup champion teams, Troy Dayak, to the club’s Hall of Fame during a ceremony at halftime of Saturday’s game against FC Dallas at Buck Shaw Stadium on Oct. 22. Over 30 alumni joined Dayak on the field for the induction ceremony. The match featured a commemorative Troy Dayak Hall of Fame pin (5,000) presented by Xfinity. Dayak is the third player ever selected to the Earthquakes’ Hall of Fame. He joins former Earthquakes great and current general manager John Doyle, who was inducted in 2005, and the club’s all-time leading scorer, Ronald Cerritos, who was inducted in 2010. Dayak’s jersey will be on display at all Earthquakes home games, alongside Doyle’s and Cerritos’. The team established the Earthquakes Hall of Fame as a tribute to honor the players who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to the club both on and off the field throughout its history.
MLS Budweiser Golden Boot 
Chris Wondolowski struck once over the weekend to move into a two-way tie atop the Budweiser Golden Boot standings with 16 goals. However, Dwayne De Rosario of DC United claimed the 2011 MLS Budweiser Golden Boot by recording more assists during the season. Wondo has scored 34 goals over the past two seasons with the Quakes. 
Rafael Baca Scores First Career Goal
Midfielder Rafael Baca scored his first MLS career goal on Oct. 22 against FC Dallas. Baca received a cross from defender Steven Beitashour and drove home a header from the left side of the six-yard box for his first career goal.
Dawkins Strikes Twice
Midfielder Simon Dawkins tallied twice on Oct. 22 against FC Dallas. Dawkins scored the first goal in the 26th minute, finishing a right footed shot from outside the box to the top left corner of the net. He found the back of the net again in the 38th minute with a right footed shot from the center of the box. He finished the season with six goals, good for second on the team in that category.
Beitashour Ends Year as Team Leader in Assists
Second-year right back Steven Beitashour completed a standout season with his seventh assist of the year on Oct. 22 in a 4-2 win against FC Dallas. He becomes the second defender in the past three years to lead the team in assists. Chris Leitch led the team with seven in 2009.
Wondo Scores in Fifth Straight
Chris Wondolowski scored in his fifth straight game to tie the franchise record for consecutive games with a goal scored. Wondo started his streak on Sept. 24 against the Colorado Rapids. The last San Jose player to score in five straight games was Ronald Cerritos, who accomplished the feat from June 15-July 13 in 1997. The streak tied Landon Donovan of the LA Galaxy for the longest streak in MLS this season.
Wondolowski Aiming for No. 1 on Quakes Career Goals List
Chris Wondolowski continues to chase Ronald Cerritos for No. 1 on the club’s career goals list. The Danville native tallied once against FC Dallas on Oct. 22 at Buck Shaw Stadium in a 4-2 victory to up his career total in San Jose to 37. Cerritos is the club’s all-time leader with 61 from 1997-2001 and 2005.
Wondolowski’s ’11 Campaign Among the Best in Club History
For the second-consecutive season, Chris Wondolowski has posted one of the top-five goal-scoring seasons in Earthquakes history. With his goal against FC Dallas on Oct. 22 at Buck Shaw Stadium, Wondo passed Ronald Cerritos for the second-most goals in a single season. Wondo is the first player in Earthquakes history to score 15 goals or more twice in their career. The five best single-season goal outputs in club history include:
1. Chris Wondolowski – 18 goals in 2010
2. Chris Wondolowski – 16 goals in 2011
3. Ronald Cerritos – 15 goals in 1999
4. Ariel Graziani – 14 goals in 2001
5. Ronald Cerritos – 13 goals in 1998
Wondolowski is Mr. October
Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski has earned the reputation of Mr. October for his fall goal-scoring sprees. He is now tied with former LA Galaxy forward Edson Buddle for No. 1 all-time in MLS history for career goals scored in October with 11. Wondo’s entire October haul has come in the last two seasons, more than double the next player on the list over that same time period.
Wondolowski Joins Elite Goal-Scoring Club
Chris Wondolowski became the ninth player in MLS history to score 15 or more goals in back-to-back seasons with his outstanding goal-scoring sprees in the final games of the season. The Danville native scored 18 in 2010 to win the Budweiser Golden Boot and had 16 goals in 2011. Below is a list of players who have scored 15 or more goals in back-to-back seasons:

Road Warrior
Chris Wondolowski finished No. 1 in MLS in goals scored on the road in 2011 with nine. He added to that total in San Jose’s last away game with a 24th-minute strike against Seattle Sounders FC on Oct. 15 at CenturyLink Field. Seattle’s Fredy Montero tied Wondo atop the list.
Record Sellout Streak
The Oct. 22 match against FC Dallas saw the sixth consecutive sellout at Buck Shaw Stadium with 10,744 fans. The current sellout streak is the longest in franchise history.
Corrales Breaks Clubs Record for Most Starts in Earthquakes History
With his start against Seattle Sounders FC on Apr. 2, Ramiro Corrales set the club’s all-time record for games started at 172, a mark previously shared with former goalkeeper Joe Cannon. At the conclusion of the season, he has now made 198 starts. Corrales is also the all-time club leader in appearances with 216 and minutes played with 17,651. On Apr. 23, Corrales played in the 250th game of his MLS career and surpassed 20,000 minutes played in his MLS career.
Jon Busch League Leader in Saves
Quakes goalkeeper Jon Busch finished 2011 at No. 1 in the league in saves with 114. He becomes just the second San Jose goalkeeper to lead the league in saves. Joe Cannon also led the league in 2008 with 124 saves. Busch has also played in the most games and played the most minutes in a single season of any player in Quakes history with 33 games and 2,970 minutes in 2011.
Busch also ranks highly in a number of all-time categories in MLS history. Busch ranks No. 8 all-time in shutouts with 60 in 193 games played, No. 8 all-time for saves with 802, No. 9 in games played with 198, No. 9 starts with 197 and No. 9 in wins with 74.
2011 Quakes Awards: Wondo, Busch Win
The Quakes announced the club’s 2011 team awards at the Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation Dinner at San Jose City Hall’s Rotunda on Oct. 19. For the second straight year, Wondolowski took home team Most Valuable Player honors, while he was also named the club’s Humanitarian of the Year for his charitable work in the local community. Busch earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year after another outstanding season in the net.

Hernandez in Quakes’ Top-10 List for Career Starts and Minutes Played
With his start against the LA Galaxy on June 25, Jason Hernandez moved into No. 10 on the club’s all-time list for career starts. He then passed Ian Russell for No. 9 on the list with a start against the Colorado Rapids on Sept. 24. Hernandez has now started 99 games for the Quakes and moved to within one start of No. 8, currently held by Eddie Lewis who started 100 games during his Quakes career from 1996-99.  Hernandez is also ranked No. 9 all-time in minutes played for the club with 8,751.
Quakes Set Career Milestones for Minutes Played
After 34 games, many Earthquakes players set new all-time career highs for minutes played in a single season. The list includes:

Earthquakes to Donate Money to Japan Disaster Victims
On March 10, 2011 a devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck Japan. The next day, the Quakes pledged to donate $50 for every save an Earthquakes goalkeeper recorded during the season to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. Jon Busch recorded 114 saves and David Bingham recorded four for a combined total of 118 saves and $5900.
Quakes President David Kaval’s Office Hours
Earthquakes President David Kaval announced in his blog, “Kaval’s Kickoff,” on www.sjearthquakes.com last week that he would offer fans the chance to drop by his office and chat about the club Mondays between 3 and 5 p.m. PT. Any fan who wishes to participate can visit the club’s Front Office at 451 El Camino Real, Suite 220 in Santa Clara, Calif. Fans will be seen on a first come, first served basis.

Stephenson Wins MLS Goal of the Week
Khari Stephenson’s 35-yard blast into the far upper corner against Seattle Sounders FC on Apr. 2 at Buck Shaw Stadium was voted as MLS Goal of the Week. The scorcher beat out goals from Caleb Folan (Colorado Rapids), Teal Bunbury (Sporting KC), Stephen McCarthy (New England Revolution) and Dane Richards (New York Red Bulls). Stephenson took home 30 percent of the total vote, with Folan coming in second with 23 percent.
Wondo Makes 50th Career Appearance with the Club
Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski appeared in his 50th career game with the Earthquakes on Saturday against Chivas USA on Apr. 23.
Wondolowski Earns Second Cap with U.S. National Team for CONCACAF Gold Cup
Chris Wondolowski came off the bench and played 45 minutes as a substitute for the US National Team on June 4 in a 4-0 loss against FIFA No. 1 ranked Spain at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Following that friendly, the U.S. began Group C play on Tuesday, June 7 with a 2-0 win against Canada at Ford Field in Detroit with Wondo subbing on for Juan Agudelo in the 65th minute. Wondo played again on June 11 against Panama. Wondolowski was called up to represent his country once before. He spent the month of January earlier this year in Southern California at a training camp at The Home Depot Center. He started and played 60 minutes for the U.S. against Chile at The Home Depot Center on Jan. 22 to earn his first cap.
Earthquakes Raise Funds for Charity
The San Jose Earthquakes supported a number of important causes with different events throughout 2011. First, the Quakes raised $1000 for the Wounded Warrior Project through a Facebook promotion on July 2 at the match against the New York Red Bulls. Then on July 9 at the match against the Philadelphia Union, the club raised $5000 for the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter and the ALS Association on Root Beer Float Night. Finally, Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch helped raise over $4000 for the Navy SEAL Foundation by auctioning his game-worn gear from the club’s match against the Chicago Fire on Sept. 10. Busch honored all United States servicemen and women as well as victims of the 9-11 tragedy by wearing commemorative gloves and cleats during the match.
Quakes Defeat English Premier League Team for First Time in Club History
The San Jose Earthquakes defeated West Bromwich Albion of the English Premier League 2-1 in an international friendly on July 12 at Buck Shaw Stadium. Quakes goalkeeper David Bingham had the play of the night, sending the ball over 90 yards for a goal after the ball bounced over West Brom net minder Boaz Myhill in the third minute (VIDEO: http://youtu.be/05VhDBSQ8JQ). Khari Stephenson tacked on the eventual game winner in the 45th minute, smashing a shot from 35 yards that darted past Myhill just before the half to give San Jose a 2-0 lead. Jerome Thomas scored the lone goal for West Brom eight minutes into the second half. The win was San Jose’s first against an English Premier League opponent. The Quakes previously drew 0-0 against club partner Tottenham Hotspur on July 17, 2010 at Buck Shaw Stadium and tied 1-1 against Aston Villa on May 13, 1997 at Spartan Stadium.
Boot it Like Bingham Goes Viral
Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham’s goal has been viewed over 3.7 million times since he scored a 90-yard goal in a 2-1 win against English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on July 12 at Buck Shaw Stadium. Bingham launched the ball from the edge of his own box and found the net on one hop. The video can be found in the Earthquakes’ YouTube channel.
Wondolowski, Convey Appear in AT&T MLS All-Star Game
San Jose Earthquakes stars Chris Wondolowski and Bobby Convey suited up for MLS team in the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star game against Manchester United on July 27 at Red Bull Arena. Convey started and played 61 minutes at left back for Hans Backe’s squad while Wondolowski came off the bench to play the second half as a striker. Manchester United won the match 4-0.
Wondolowski Plays in 100th Career Game
Chris Wondolowski played in his 100th career MLS game on Aug. 6 against the Portland Timbers. The striker started and played a full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw. Wondolowski has netted 33 goals and notched six assists in his MLS career.
Two Earthquakes Academy Players Called to US Residency Program
San Jose Earthquakes Academy goalkeeper Nedin Tucakovic and forward Angel Heredia have been selected to train with the U.S. National Team U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla. for the upcoming school year. Heredia and Tucakovic are the second Quakes combination in two years to receive invites from the U-17 Residency Program. Last year, goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh spent a season in Bradenton and right back Travis Pillon turned down an invitation to remain in camp with San Jose.
Club Record for Ties in a Single Season
The Earthquakes set a new club record for ties in a single season with 14. The previous mark for ties in a single season was 11 in 2004. 
Bingham Makes MLS Debut and Notches First Career Assist
Goalkeeper David Bingham made his MLS debut in a 2-1 win against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Oct. 8. He also notched his first MLS career assist after launching a ball 70 yards downfield to find Chris Wondolowski for San Jose’s first goal.
