It's shaping up to be a hot day in the Bay Area. What better way to spend it than sipping a root beer float and cheering on the Oakland A's?
The 14th Annual Oakland A's MUG Root Beer Float Day is from 10:35 a.m.-12:35 p.m. in the Eastside Club at the O.co Coliseum. A's players, coaches and Quakes players Adam Jahn, David Bingham and Earthquakes Shakers will be serving up the $2 floats.
Admission is free with a ticket to this afternoon's game vs. the Cincinnati Reds.

After the game, join the Shakers Corona Girls and fellow Quakes fans at Old Pro (541 Ramona Ave., Palo Alto CA) from 7-9 p.m. tonight. The Shakers and Corona Girls will be guest bartending for the night. The event is open to all ages.
The Quakes will host a Root Beer Float Night of their own on July 13 before they take on Seattle Sounders FC. The event, sponsored by A&W, will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Last year, the Quakes raised $10,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
