Quakes To Host Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Avaya Stadium

SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes will host the winner of Chula Vista-Sacramento Republic FC on Tuesday, June 16 at Avaya Stadium in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT.
For the 2015 U.S. Open Cup home games, excluding the U.S. Open Cup Final, the Bonus Game B ticket in the season ticket holder package will serve as an Open Cup Series Ticket. Season Ticket Holders can use the Series Ticket for the Fourth Round, Fifth Round, Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the 2015 U.S. Open Cup. For more information on the Open Cup Series Ticket, season ticket holders should contact their Fan Relations Specialist. Tickets to the general public for the match go on sale on June 3 at 10 a.m. PT and will be available at sjearthquakes.com and at the Earthquakes’ Front Office at 1123 Coleman Ave.
San Jose will participate in the U.S. Open Cup for the 12th time in team history in 2015 and hold a 13-11 all-time record in U.S. Open Cup play. The Quakes best finish in the tournament came in 2004 when they advanced to the semifinals before losing to the Kansas City Wizards, 1-0. Ronald Cerritos is the club’s all-time leader in goals in Open Cup competition, totaling four goals and one assist.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 101 consecutive years dating back to 1914. This year's winner will earn $250,000, a berth in the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions' League and have its name engraved on the historic Dewar Challenge Trophy, one of the oldest nationally contested trophies in American team sports. The runner-up will take home $60,000, while the team that advances the furthest from each lower division will earn a $15,000 cash prize.
