Earthquakes Announce Devotion Scarf Recipients

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced the 21 recipients of the first annual Devotion Scarves, as the most devoted Earthquakes fans, staff, alumni or member of the Earthquakes family. The recipients of the Devotion Scarves will be honored at halftime of tonight’s match against Sporting Kansas City at Avaya Stadium. All recipients were nominated through sjearthquakes.com.


“The Earthquakes are proud to introduce the Devotion Scarf,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. “We are a club that is sustained by the devotion of our fans, staff and community and we are excited to recognize the people that are such an important part of our success.”


The 21 recipients of an inaugural Devotion Scarf are listed below in alphabetical order:


Mark and Patty Biagini– Longtime Quakes fans and supporters of the Earthquakes Community Fund, the Biaginis have also traveled to numerous road matches to watch the club.


Marlee and Glenn Castleman - Season Ticket Holders since 2010, and their hats contain every win pin since they have been season ticket holders.


Shaun Del Grande – The Del Grande family has supported the Earthquakes since the 1970s.  Shaun Del Grande, a season ticket holder, carries on that tradition by providing team vehicles and community support.

Dr. Michael Furlong– Dr. Michael Furlong is the Quakes’ second longest-tenured sponsor. He has performed LASIK on numerous Quakes, including midfielders JJ Koval & Shea Salinas and GM John Doyle.


Julie Di Maria– Longtime Quakes Season Ticket Holder and oversees Operation: Care and Comfort, an organization that provides support to troops overseas. She has helped bring over 10,000 members of the military to Earthquakes games.


Jose Fuentes– Part of organization since 1996 as a member of the field crew.


Don Gagliardi– Season Ticket Holder since 1999 and former President of Soccer Silicon Valley.


Jeff Kordes– Member of both Street Team and Box Office staff since 2009. He's a constant spokesperson and advocate in the soccer community for the Quakes around the Bay Area.


Dan Margarit– Founding member of the 1906/San Jose Ultras and Earthquakes supporter since 1999.


Dave McAllister and Carol Haner – Longtime season ticket holders of the Quakes and big supporters of the Earthquakes Community Fund.


Shelley McCune– Has been part of the game day VIP staff for over four years. This season, she managed the Scoreboard Club area and has done a tremendous job handling the high-pressure location and taking care of fans. 


Jesse Mendes– Staff Pro employee who works closely with supporters groups.


Dave Obenour– The original Athletic Trainer for the club in 1974, he has also been a long-time Season Ticket Holder. 


Anthony Perry– Has been with the Earthquakes since 2007 and is currently the longest, continuous employee of the team. He is a leader in the Youth Soccer Community helping to bring thousands of youth soccer families to games each year.


Carlos Cesar Rivera– Team radio broadcaster since 1996 and has covered multiple generations of the Quakes beginning with the NASL.


Brenda Scott– Staff Pro employee who mainly works the North East gate with a consistent positive attitude.


Alan Wolfe– Season Ticket Holder who attends every game with three generations of his family. 


Ken Yeager– Santa Clara County Supervisor and longtime supporter of stadium and team.
