The Earthquakes close out their preseason with two final matches this week in preparation for the season opener on March 6. On Wednesday, San Jose faces off against San Francisco City FC in a closed-door scrimmage before concluding their preseason slate vs. the New York Cosmos in front of their home fans on Saturday evening at Avaya Stadium (7 p.m. kickoff).

Last week, the Quakes defeated Sonoma County Sol 3-1 at the Earthquakes Training Facility in a closed-door scrimmage on Wednesday. The team then travelled to the state’s capital where they beat Sacramento Republic FC 2-1 on Saturday night at Bonney Field behind a pair of goals by forward Quincy Amarikwa.

Matchups Set at Levi’s Stadium for Historic 2016 Copa America Centenario in June
Levi’s Stadium will host three group stage matchups during the Copa America Centenario, starting on June 3. The tournament will officially kick-off with the United States vs. Colombia on June 3, the second match on June 6 will see Argentina take on Chile while Uruguay will face Jamaica in a clash that will conclude the group stage on June 13. Levi’s Stadium will also host a quarterfinal match on June 18 during the once-in-a-lifetime tournament. The groups and full match schedule were set for the 2016 Copa America Centenario after the Official Draw was conducted at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City Sunday. The entire tournament will take place from June 3-26 across 10 cities in the United States. The full tournament match schedule can be found at CA2016.com. The official match times will be announced in the near future.
Earthquakes Midfielder Marc Pelosi Successfully Undergoes Procedure to Resolve Chronic Tendinitis
San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Marc Pelosi successfully underwent a procedure to resolve chronic tendinitis in his left knee on Friday afternoon. The surgery was performed by Dr. Kenneth Akizuki in San Francisco and is expected to keep him out two to three months.
