Weekly Update: June 6, 2016

Starting XI - San Jose Earthquakes - PORvSJ

Due to the international break, the Earthquakes are not in action this weekend. San Jose will return to the field against the Portland Timbers in the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday, June 14 at Providence Park. The Quakes will have three representatives at Copa America this week, with Chris Wondolowski and the United States taking on Costa Rica on Tuesday, June 7 at Solider Field in Chicago (5 p.m. PT/FS1) and Anibal Godoy and Alberto Quintero representing Panama against Bolivia later today at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL (4 p.m. PT/FS1).
San Jose fell to the Timbers on the road last Wednesday 1-0, despite a strong defensive performance and several near misses. The Quakes allowed their fewest shots in a game this season (two) and welcomed back defender Jordan Stewart, who made his first start since last August.

The U-18s, along with the U-16s, who recently secured their own playoff spot as the No. 16 team in the nation, trained with Lionel Messi and the Argentina National Team last week.
