Match Preview: Season series tied as FC Dallas visit for rubber match at Avaya Stadium

Kickoff
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Avaya Stadium. It marks the Earthquakes’ third and final matchup against FC Dallas this season.
Broadcast Information
The game will be aired live on Univision, 1590 KLIV (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).
Home Field Advantage
The match marks the Earthquakes’ first at Avaya Stadium since their last matchup on May 28 against FC Dallas, which ended in a scoreless draw. San Jose will look to stay undefeated at their fortress this season, where they are currently 5-0-2. They will also look to add to their 12-game undefeated streak at Avaya, where they haven’t lost since September 2015.
A Tall Order
The Earthquakes face a tough battle on Friday night against FC Dallas, who is currently atop the league table with 34 points and a 10-5-4 record. Their Western Conference foes are also coming off of two shutout wins, while the Quakes are searching for their first win since May 11. San Jose will look to snap FC Dallas’ win streak and start a streak of its own on Friday night.
Wondo Returns Home
Friday’s match will likely mark the first that the Earthquakes will have their captain Chris Wondolowski back at home since he left for Copa America Centenario duty. The Quakes were held scoreless in their only match at Avaya Stadium in his absence (0-0 vs. FC Dallas). Wondolowski currently leads the team with four goals at home this season and his eight total goals at Avaya rank the most all-time.
Tiebreaker
Both of the first two matchups this season between the teams resulted in draws, the first coming in April at Toyota Stadium (2-2) and the second in May at Avaya Stadium (0-0). The Quakes and FC Dallas have finished in a draw in three of the last four meetings. Will one team take the bull by the horns and finally capture a win against the other this season?
