On this date in Earthquakes history, midfielder Anibal Godoy made his San Jose debut in a 1-0 win against the Colorado Rapids on Aug. 14, 2015 at Avaya Stadium.

After acquiring Godoy on Aug. 6, the Quakes were hoping the Panamanian would provide a much needed spark in the middle of the park against the Rapids and help the club end its six game winless streak. Arriving to San Jose just 10 hours before kickoff, Godoy was named to the starting XI alongside Matias Perez Garcia and played a full 90 minute match, helping San Jose preserve a shutout at Avaya Stadium.

To prove that Godoy’s presence in the win against Colorado wasn’t just a fluke, San Jose would go on to win their next three consecutive games with him in the lineup, tallying nine goals and earning four clean sheets in his first four matches.
