Quincy Amarikwa Advances to Round of 16 in MLS Goal of the Year Voting
Quincy Amarikwa’s incredible chip goal scored in the 2-1 victory against the Portland Timbers on Sunday, March 13 is in the Round of 16 for MLS Goal of the Year. Catching goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey off his line, Amarikwa launched a 40-yard chip up and over the keeper and into the top corner of the goal. Fans can vote for Amarikwa here until Wednesday, Nov. 2.

U.S. Soccer Announces 24 players for Nov. 10 USWNT match at Avaya Stadium
U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Jill Ellis has named 24 players to the roster ahead of the Nov. 10 match against Romania at Avaya Stadium. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. PT and will be televised on ESPN2. The roster includes five veterans from the 2015 Women’s World Cup Team and the 2016 Olympic Team.

ACADEMY UPDATE


The Earthquakes Academy U-12, U-13 and U-14 teams faced San Juan SC this past weekend, with each team earning clear victories. The U-12s won by a three-goal margin with a final score of 5-2, while the U-13s and U-14s shutout their opponents 5-0 and 3-0 respectively.
The Earthquakes Academy will return to action next weekend for a series of matches. The U-13s will face San Diego Surf U-13 and Los Angeles United Football Academy U-13 on Friday, Nov. 4, and LA Galaxy U-13 on Saturday, Nov. 5. The U-14s will face Albion SC U-14 on Saturday and on Sunday, Nov. 6, they will play Seattle Sounders FC U-14 and Portland Timbers U-14.
