Dan DeGeer grew up playing soccer in Beaverton, Oregon where he fell in love with the sport. His interests lead him to competitive soccer through the club, Westside Metros. As a youth player, he experienced winning 4 state championships, participating in the Olympic Development Program and 4 years of Varsity High School soccer. He was recruited to play for the University of San Francisco Dons, where he won the 2004 and 2005 West Coast Conference Championship and received three straight NCAA bids. His final season he was selected to the 1st team All - WCC and drafted to the MLS Los Angeles Galaxy. In 2008, he was selected as a member of the United States National Futsal team.

In 2009, he started coaching at Westside Metros Soccer Club. His passion continued to grow and in 2012, he moved to the Bay Area to pursue a full-time coaching career. Coach DeGeer is currently serving his 5th year as an Earthquakes Academy head coach. He lives in Marin with his Wife, Zoe and his daughter Skyla.
