Can you gives your background on how you got involved with the Earthquakes?

  • 1974 year 1. It was incredible and I have followed the team ever since. The early ‘74 sold out spartan stadium was just magic. We had Paul Child, Juli Vee and our defense was known as a no goal patrol. It was amazing and it had a great atmosphere. A great way to start a team in the bay area and I have never lost my passion for the team.

Why do you think that is? Why do you keep coming back

  • We never lost because of the players, so you know we supported our team, the team we have. Being Spanish Italian, the game is in my blood. So you know you support the team you have, and it's San Jose, our city. We have won two MLS cups and we have been close so many times in the early days. I am so excited for the direction of the team now under Luici.

What are you most excited about in the future of the cub

  • One the stadium, its just an incredible setting. Wherever you sit, you have a great seat. Then the bar, you know what more can I say. The core of our team is so young which is pretty cool. To know that our MLS team 2 is playing well and that we have a pipeline.

Tell us a little bit about your experience growing up a fan of the team and now in a working capacity where you get to bring these amazing events to the San Jose Area and partnering with the Earthquakes. Talk a little about that journey.

  • As the executive director of the San Jose Sports Authority, it's not fair, it is really a l job. I get to work with the San Jose Earthquakes organization, Jared, Jed, Jen, and Michael and it's incredible. We share a vision 3-4 years out of what events we want to get out here. Jared Jed and I worked intently on the 2026 Fifa World Cup bid with the vision of bringing it to San Jose. It's not being played at our Stadium but PayPal Park is a huge part of it.

What are your favorite moments in PayPal Park?

  • In a selfish way, when Valladolid from LaLiga came to play because it's a team from my mom’s home town in Spain. That to me was my all time favorite moment  from a selfish perspective. Having international soccer here is also so cool, especially because of the atmosphere that it creates.

What does it mean to you to receive the Devotion Scarf from the club?

  • It is beyond humbling and beyond an honor. I am thrilled to be selected and thankful to the EarthquakesOrganization. They could have picked anyone but I am not going to say no.

Anything you want to say to the Quakes fans?

  • The MLS cup needs to be back here, we got a young talented core.
