Explain what it means to you to get this honor.
I’m excited and grateful for being part of this group. There’s a lot of people involved, friends, family, coworkers, that’ll make it possible.
How long have you been working for the club?
Since 2017. I got the opportunity to join the group of drivers. We were originally five drivers and I’m the last one left.
What is your most memorable moment with the team?
The first time they joined the playoffs in 2017. It was our first season with them, so it was great. Being part of that joy with the rest of the team makes me so happy.
It’s the [playoff] game where we left and all the fans lined up. Can you describe that day?
I was standing behind the barriers and I’m looking out. I was so excited. It was emotional. Every time I go drop off at the airport and I pick them up, it’s like I feel the same excitement, like it’s the first time.
Who is your favorite Quakes player and why?
I don’t want to leave anyone behind. I mean all of them. But having Wondo here, Espinoza, and Hernan. I also see the growth of the young kids from the second team coming into the first team. Niko is one of them too.
What would be your message to Quakes fans out there?
There are opportunities out there and don’t give up. If you have a dream, pursue it. Opportunities can come and knock on your door without knowing sometimes.
What is a memory that stands out from driving a team that wasn’t the Earthquakes?
Every single team, it’s a memory. I feel like I represent a lot of people that don’t have the opportunity to be here, close to them. The players talk to me, the coaches ask me personal questions, and they already know me by name. Those are the memories I’m going to take with me.
