SAN JOSE, Calif. – Over Memorial Day weekend, the U-12, U-13 and U-14 Boys’ Academy teams competed in the Nexen Manchester City Cup in San Diego, Calif. The tournament featured top-class competition including England’s Manchester City, Spain’s Girona FC, Mexico’s Club America and rivals LA Galaxy just to name a few.
Our U-12 Boys’ Academy was split into two squads for the tournament. The older squad, consisting of players born in 2006, competed in the top group and would go on to secure a third place finish with a 4-1-1 record. The 2007 boys raised the first place trophy in the white bracket and were able to remain undefeated in all of their matches.

The U-13s would go on to finish third in group play despite earning a 2-1 win against the LA Galaxy in their first match of the tournament. The U-14s finished fourth in their bracket, behind Seattle Sounders FC, Manchester City and Strikers Irvine FC.
