ACADEMY UPDATE: January 29, 2018

The Quakes Boys’ Academy had a successful weekend at the U-12 level, going undefeated at the U.S. Soccer NorCal Futsal Showcase in Walnut Creek, Calif. The Quakes U-12s won their group, beating Sacramento Republic FC 7-3, DeAnza Force 8-1 and Mustang 11-0.  They then faced Sacramento Republic FC again in the final and won 6-4.


The other Boys’ Academy teams also faced Sacramento Republic FC during the weekend: the U-15s won 1-0, U-17s lost 8-0 and U-19s lost 2-1.


This Saturday, Feb. 3, the U-12s, U-13 and U-14s will face the EBU Bay Oaks at Evergreen Community College. Both U-12 teams will play with games at 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., the U-13s at 9:30 a.m. and U-14s at 11:15 a.m.


The U-15s, U-17s and U-19s will play Real So Cal on Saturday, also at Evergreen Community College. The U-15s will play at 1:15 p.m., U-17s at 3:15 p.m. and U-19s at 5:30 p.m. The next day on Sunday, Feb. 4, they will play Arsenal FC at San Martin Soccer Field. The U-15s will play 10 a.m., U-17s at 12:15 p.m. and U-19s at 2:40 p.m.


The Quakes Girls’ Academy did not feature this weekend, and will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10 to take on the San Diego Surf, and Albion SC on Sunday, Feb. 11. In other news, Girls’ Academy defender Andrea Kitahata has been called up to the U.S. Under-15 Girls’ National Team at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from Jan. 27-Feb. 3.
