COMMUNITY: Quakes make donation to MACLA on behalf of Chofis

Chofis - Community - 2021 - San Jose Earthquakes

As part of the club’s ongoing commitment to local communities, the San Jose Earthquakes and the Quakes Foundation will make a financial donation to local organizations on behalf of all new signings.  The Quakes are working to foster connectivity between the fans, front office, and players with frontline community organizations. As the COVID situation develops, the Quakes will also look to incorporate new volunteer opportunities connected to these recipients, further connecting the club with local impact.

The Earthquakes and the Quakes Foundation have made a donation to MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana) on behalf of new signing Eduardo ‘Chofis’ Lopez.

MACLA, founded in 1989 as the result of a broad community mobilization in the City of San Jose and nationwide on behalf of multicultural arts, has promoted a vision of arts programming as a vehicle for civic dialogue and social equity since its inception. More than 30,000 children, youth, young adults, families and community residents participate in the 50 programs MACLA produces each year in four core program tracts: visual arts; performance and literary arts; youth arts education; and community development through the arts.
