On July 24, the Quakes will welcome several partner organizations to PayPal Park to engage with fans about awareness, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved in the fight against food insecurity in the South Bay.
Hunger at Home, Martha’s Kitchen, African American Community Service Agency (AACSA), Valley Verde, Veggielution, the United Farm Worker Foundation, the Health Trust, East Valley YMCA, Catholic Charities, Farmworker Caravan and Watsonville Campesino Appreciation Caravan.
Prior to Arrival:
There will be a Boy Scouts Food Drive:
Silicon Valley Monterey Council BSA helping out collecting food with a table outside the bike racks as you walk up to the main stadium gates. Food will be delivered to South Bay Pantries Food Bank.
Collection is for non-perishable foods (cans, rice, boxes, etc.). Please drop off items at the tent next to the bike racks before heading in to enjoy the game. Look for boy scouts for donation table
One dollar from each ticket sold will go to the Pledge 74 initiative, where funds will support a number of programs, including a monthly food distribution at PayPal Park, infant and early childhood nutrition, support to farm workers, and assisting local food justice organizations teaching and operating in culturally specific San Jose-based farming.
During the Match:
Visit the Quakes Foundation booth in the Epicenter for a silent auction. A limited number of game worn Americana tops will be auctioned to support the Foundation and our work in the community.
How to become involved:
Starting in 2021, PG&E and the Quakes Foundation will begin an annual Pledge 74 granting initiative, donating approximately $40,000 per year towards targeted community advocates advancing food security, food sovereignty, and food justice in San Jose and Santa Clara County.
Donations of all sizes are appreciated and can be made here.
The Quakes Foundation is always looking for more volunteers as we continue through the year. For more information about volunteering opportunities, reach out to the Quakes Community team at QuakesRelations@sjearthquakes.com, or visit Pledge74.org
