Earthquakes' midfielders Cordell Cato and Anibal Godoy wrapped up their first two CONCACAF World Cup Qualification matches for their respective countries Tuesday night in the Caribbean.

Cato and Trinidad and Tobago kicked off their World Cup qualification Saturday with a 2-1 win against Guatemala. The 23-year-old, fleet-footed winger came on as a second half substitute and provided a spark on both flanks in 27 minutes. In their next qualifying match, Cato, a Carnage native, returned to his hometown, started, and played 85 minutes in their 0-0 draw against the United States at Hasley Crawford Stadium. The Soca Warriors are now tied atop of Group C with the U.S. Their Road to Russia continues in March with a pair of matches against St. Vincent/Grenadines before facing Guatemala and the United States in January.

Godoy and Panama started their Road to Russia Saturday with a convincing 2-0 win against Jamaica. The 25-year-old midfielder started and played 90 minutes to help secure consecutive shutouts against The Reggae Boyz. Godoy, like Cato, returned to his hometown of Panama City in his second qualifying match against Costa Rica. Godoy would again start and play 90 minutes, but The Canal Men would fall to The Selection 1-2 at Estadio Rommel Fernardez. Panama is now tied in second place with Jamaica in Group B. Their search for a 2018 World Cup berth continues in March with a pair of matches against Haiti before playing Jamaica and Costa Rica in September.
