Stanford - Cali Clasico

According to WorldSoccerTalk.com, the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium was among the most attended soccer matches on United States soil in 2018.

Among all matches played in the U.S. this year, the Clasico ranked 24th with an attendance of 50,743, fourth most in club history. The Clasico also ranked 10th among all MLS games, seventh among MLS regular season games, and second among MLS games played outside of Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MIN vs. LA on 10/21 – 52,242).

Many of the most attended matches took place between European clubs, who rarely make the trip across the Atlantic Ocean, including the No. 1 ranked ICC contest between Manchester United and Liverpool that drew 101,254 fans at Michigan Stadium. International friendlies were also prominent on the list, including a quartet of Mexico National Team matches in the top-17.
