FEATURE: Earthquakes Honor Five Residents of Los Gatos during match Against D.C. United

The San Jose Earthquakes celebrated the Los Gatos neighborhood as part of the 2018 Neighborhood Night Series, presented by Wells Fargo, at the match on May 19 against D.C. United.


As part of the celebrations, the Quakes, along with the help of Vice Mayor of Los Gatos Steven Leonardis, recognized five residents of Los Gatos on the Avaya Stadium field ahead of the match.


Doug Carlen has served as the director of the Lupus Foundation of Northern California as well as the President of the Home and School Club for Leigh High School and Union Middle School in Los Gatos.


Joel Fumia currently serves as the head coach of three of the Los Gatos United soccer teams, and is the Los Gatos Coach of Excellence for his leadership, integrity and commitment to youth soccer development.


Andrew Howard is the incoming President of the Rotary Club of Los Gatos and is the chair of the financial advisory committee for the Los Gatos Union School District. He has contributed time to many local and global projects through his participation in the Rotary Club and has been a strong advocate for improving local education.


Jennifer Norcia has been active for eight years on the Home & School Club Boards at the elementary, middle and high school levels in Los Gatos. She has also served as a nurse for the Veteran Affairs Office for more than two decades.


Tammy Upton is the registrar of Liverpool FC Bay Area. She is a Quakes Season Pass Holder and has supported the club with operations and events for many years.


The Neighborhood Night series recognizes and celebrates the micro communities that make up San Jose. The next neighborhood in the series is Willow Glen on Saturday, June 9 against LAFC.
